Now that I have started this blog, I seem to see situations a bit differently. This blog has given me the opportunity to reflect on everything I do in life which consequently gives me the opportunity to try and change the things I do in life. So what I have realised recently is that Selfishness Hinders A Positive Attitude. This is because, when we want our way and only our way with something, when it doesn't happen, we tend to get unhappy with the situation. We think that because we haven't got our own way, this is a bad thing. So because we are focussing on what we wanted and how we didn't get it we may get upset, annoyed or even angry. We then don't enjoy the situation we are in because of how we we are now feeling.
Here is an example: I was at my boyfriend's house and he wanted to watch the footy. I understand guys love their fotty and that was fine. So we sat there and watched the entire match. (I am quite happy with my achievement, I didn't fall asleep.) Anyways afterwards we went to his room. I expected to spend some nice time with just him now. (We had been watching the game with his two housemates.) We stayed in his room very briefly but then came back out again. I was a little disappointed and upset because this was not what I wanted. I then didn't enjoy the last bit of my night because I was being so negative. Again a negative attitude creates a negative outcome.
This kind of example is not a one off. It seems to be that whenever I am selfish, focussing on myself, my wants, and I don't get my way, I begin to develop a negative attitude. This negative attitude leads to a negative outcome. If I can be less caught up in what I want and just enjoy what life brings I know there will be better outcomes for me, the people around me and of course I will glorify God.
Thanks for reading :)

Genuine Positivity vs. Fake Positivity
I think it is important at this time to define what i mean by positivity. I don't know about anyone else but I do know that I can pretend to be positive. This often is because I do want to be positive, but if I am honest, I really don't feel positive towards the situation. This fake positivity can be effective for a while, but eventually, if the situation continues to be difficult, I know I tend to blow my top. In order for our situation to really change and be affected by our positive attitude, it needs to be a genuine positive attitude. We really need to believe that there is a positive in this situation and not just hope that it will be ok. Getting to a genuine postive attitude is what is difficult but I believe that the rewards will certainly be worth it, for us, the people around us and for the glory of God!
That's all for now. Thanks

Attitude Determines Outcome
I was talking to a friend whom I work (let's call her Carol) with and we were discussing the different managers. We were talking about who we did and didn't like. Carol was trying to convince me that one of the managers that I don't like, was actually not that bad. She was telling me that I was not the only one who didn't like this manager. Anyways to the important part of the story, she was telling me about a shift she worked with this manager and another co-worker who didn't like this manager. This co-worker was complaining about being on shift with this manager. Carol told the co-worker, you know i bet if you came into this shift saying you are going to have fun with this manager, the shift will go alot smoother. So the co-worker CHANGED HIS ATTITUDE. In the end, Carol, the co-worker and the manager all had a great night. This had not been the previous experience of the co-worker. The co-worker even ended up liking the manager by the end of the night. This story really reminded me that our ATTITUDE REALLY DOES DETERMINE OUR OUTCOME.

The Beginning
So every blog needs a beginning. I'm not quite sure what I want to write in this blog yet. But I have always wanted to share my life with others. I don't know how much I want to share, whether anyone will want to read it or whether it will even be worth reading, but I won't ever know until I make a start. I can't promise to blog everyday, or even every week but I think I should definitely aim for at least once a month.
I do know, however, that I want this blog to be filled with positivity. I may include negative aspects of life, because I know not all of life is positive, but I want to find the positives in the negatives. I want to encourage firstly myself to do this. To stop worrying about life or getting frustrated but to see all the positives. To truly realise that I am Blessed Beyond Imaingination. But I also want to encourage others to do the same. It's not about being unrealistic and pretending that bad things don't happen. But its focussing our attention on the good that comes out of these situations.
I was reading this afternoon in my text book for the subject Teaching and Learning in the Early Years, that emotional development occurs when we learn to appropriately react to situations and learn strategies to deal with negative reactions to situations. I want this blog to be a journey of my emotional development and helping others develop emotionally. I have realised that I am quite emotionally immature sometimes. When life gets tough, I don't deal with it very well. I don't believe I honour God with the way I react to life. I believe the key is to begin trusting God and realise that I am Blessed Beyond Imagination.
So that's enough rambling for now. Welcome to the beginning. At this point in stage, I am writing this purely to myself. However, I would love you to join me on this journey. Who knows, it may end up in a total different direction. All I know is God is good and he has Blessed us all Beyond Imagination. All we need to do is begin to realise this.
